Subway and Shaimann Island

Another day with nothing planned.  We set out to explore.  Guangzhou is such a beautiful city!

Jason has a toothache.  We stopped at a pharmacy to grab some painkiller.  LOVED these dried seahorses – they will help with everything from inhibiting cancer to helping infertility and helping children to grow taller.

We decided to try the subway – and we are now experts!  It’s really easy to use.

A huge touristy place here is Shaimann Island.  It once housed the consulates and trading houses of other countries.  The architecture is very European.  It is a beautiful place to take a walk and admire all of the statues.

Where there is a park like setting, there is a group of ladies dancing.

We found a store that sells handicrafts to support special needs orphans in China.  We bought a nativity with Chinese characters.  While Kai and Alex will never been able to see it, we still wanted it!

It was chilly and windy, some Starbucks hot chocolate really hit the spot!
