Last Half of August

Most of the last half of August has been devoted to getting all of our paperwork and homestudy done for the adoption process.

We are glad that this part is done and now just have to wait till our daughter finds us.

Painting the Family Room

The family room needed painting so we spent about a month with many paint chips on the wall trying to decide which color would be best for our room. We wanted something warm and inviting that would go with our furniture.

I feel that it turned out really nice.

Beard No More

I told Shelly that once I hit a weight loss goal, I was going
to shave my beard.

Today was the day that I met that goal and here are the
before and after pictures.

I'm an Aunt (again)!

My brother, Bob, and his wife, Laura, had their 3rd child, Thomas Glenn Ball, at 11:09 PM on August 9, 2006. He weighed 9 pounds and was 21 3/4 inches long. Way to go Laura!
Both mother and baby are doing well.

Pioneer Homestead Museum

We went to the Pioneer Homestead Museum in the Jesse H. Jones Park in Houston.

The kids had a lot of fun looking at the houses. We had to trudge 3 tenths of a mile through clouds of mosquitoes to get there but had fun once there.

They have several events coming up for Halloween, Fall, and an Old Time Christmas event at the homestead.

Weight Loss

For the past 16 weeks my company has paid to have Weight Watchers come in and do the WW sessions at work on Thursdays.

Over this time period I have lost 47.4 lbs.

We found out today that our company will add an additional 12 weeks to the program. We are all excited that they are doing this for us.

Now the question is how much more can I loose in that time?
