Antenna and Tower

Today I went to help a friend build his antenna and erect the tower for it to go on.

Unfortunately or maybe fortunately I am behind the camera taking the pictures so I am not in any of the photos.

We put together the 3 element beam antenna so KG5YF (Chet) can talk on 10, 15, and 20 Meters.

Good Luck Chet with the Antenna and 73!

(for all the non Ham's 73 means Best Regards and is the customary way to close a conversation)

So 73 to all.

Becca's Solo Flight

Our Becca has left for a little over a week to go spend time with her Grandma and Grandpa Turpin in Iowa.

This morning I dove her down to Hobby Airport and saw her off.  I think I had more butterflies than she did.

I am proud of her and she is so grown up.

Piney Woods

Today the girls and I went to the Montgomery Land Preserve with our ecology study group.

Damien, the bird expert, explains how trees and birds are interconnected.

The girls and Jennifer, our guide and director of Legacy Land Trust, try to identify different plant species.

The fun group!
We are enjoying our study of Houston's different ecosystems.

Mama's Birthday

Last night, Nathan and Mandy were over here while Mama and Daddy went to the Adult Session of Stake Conference. They played, had a good time, ate me out of house and home (does Nathan have hollow legs?), and watched Atlantis.

When the adults got home, we had brownies for Mama's birthday. Happy Birthday Mama!!
I love you! (Good luck with the video - Sammi made it and it's very jumpy!)

Mother's Day

Here are five reasons I have to rejoice this Mother's Day. I am so grateful to be the mother for these five sweet girls!

In other news, Becca gave her first talk in Sacrament Meeting today. She spoke on Testimony. She did a very good job. :)

Fun Events this Weekend

Friday we went to the park with Shasta and Jacob. The Geddie girls joined us a little later. It was fun! Jason is taking a class every Friday night. He is trying to get his Extra license for his ham radio.

Saturday was Mandy's Recital. She is the 3rd lion from the left. Becca took the video in a very packed audioturm. Afterwards we had a little reception at Grandma's house. We got to meet the people that Mama has been telling me about from dance class. Mama's ward had a Mexican Fiesta that evening as well. We went to that (one less meal for me to cook!). They had a pinata for the kids.

Enjoy the slides and the videos!

Performances and Concerts

It's the end of the school year which means concerts and performances.
Jessi and Sammi have been performing at area nursing homes. They enjoy Super Singers!

Becca gave her big end of the year concert. Yeah!
