It’s Spring!

I love Spring!  I love the renewal and the millions of miracles in every new bud and blossom.  I love the colors of white and pink and pale green.  I love the way the air smells.  I love the songs the birds sing.  I love the energy and vitality it all brings to me!  I love Spring!

march 14 033  This week Lizzy got her AR shirt.  She had to read 100 books to get that shirt!  She was very proud of herself! (I was too!)  Becca got invited to the Social Studies breakfast  because she is so wonderful!  (She has a 100 in that class.)  And Jessi gave me a glimpse of the future.  This is the picture I took after she had been on the phone for 30 minutes giggling and talking to her friend!  :)  We got another puzzle completed – very fun.  Life is good.

And for those of you that don’t know, Grandpa Turpin has Hairy Cell Leukemia.  He had his chemo treatment.  Then he developed a 102 fever and had to be hospitalized.  His white blood count is SLOWLY creeping up – yeah.  Hopefully he’ll be able to get out of the hospital in a day or two.  Jason will be headed up to Iowa on Friday to visit.  He is so excited!  I was going to fly his parents down for his birthday (he turns 40 on the 24th), but with everything going on, he is going up there.  Should be a wonderful visit!

This afternoon I got a reality check.  Our littlest sweetheart lives with the help of technology and electricity.  She has developed some type of secondary infection to either allergies or a virus (my diagnosis – to be confirmed tomorrow in clinic :)  ).  I have been worried as her oxygen needs have steadily increased and her secretions have gotten grosser and grosser.  Then the power went out.  Ugh!  I am so grateful my Jason was here.  He got the generator out and all of her equipment plugged in.  That is one more thing I need to learn how to do (especially before he leaves on Friday).  What a blessing we had that while the power was out!

To end, a beautiful song we are all familiar with about the Savior.   As much as I love Spring, isn’t it amazing to think how wonderful and awe inspiring our God is to have created all of this?

Beautiful Savior

Beautiful Savior, King of creation
Son of God and Son of Man!
Truly I'd love Thee, truly I'd serve Thee,
Light of my soul, my joy, my crown.

Fair are the meadows, Fair are the woodlands,
Robed in the flowers of blooming spring;
Jesus is fairer, Jesus is purer,
He makes our sorrowing spirit sing.

Fair is the sunshine, Fair is the moonlight,
Bright the sparkling stars on high;
Jesus shines brighter, Jesus shines purer
Than all the angels in the sky.

Beautiful Savior, Lord of the nations,
Son of God and Son of Man!
Glory and honor, Praise, adoration
Now and forevermore be Thine!
