Another Exciting Week

October 3 012Monday night Becca had an Orchestra Concert.  It was beautiful, of course.  I think they sounded wonderful!!  Aunt Marissa, Aidan, and Grace were able to come and hear her play.  Thanks for coming y’all.  I am proud of her and all of the work she puts into her viola.  She practices, has daily classes, has private lessons, and this week stayed after with a friend for help with a particularly difficult section.  Yeah Becca. Even if she gives up the viola at the end of the year, this determination and perseverance are such good traits for her future.

Sammi loves to create play areas for Joy.  Joy loves to play in them too!IMG_7815

Tuesday I got to babysit Marlissa and Elizabeth while Kathie had a job interview.  Aren’t they adorable?  And it sounds like Kathie got the job!!!  Congrats Kath!  Later, Mama dropped off Nathan and Mandy for a while.  Mama was flying out to Arizona to be with Cyndi and Michael.  Michael had surgery for his legs.  Thankfully that went well.  Wishing their family a speedily recovery!

That night Jay came over and Jason and he moved all of our TV equipment upstairs.  Then they went out and bought the new TV and equipment.  Jason is one happy man!

My loving girls:

This made me laugh – 2 active seven year olds mesmerized by a cooking show on the new TV.  Later they played house.  Jessi had seven babies!  IMG_7873IMG_7874

Lizzy is beyond excited!  She loves that her Daddy is her Soccer Coach.  They had their first parent meeting on Saturday.  Then there will be weekly practices and games.  I love to watch Jason helping the girls with their sports.  He’s going to be a great Daddy to our son one day.                                    Jessi playing with Joy.

Thursday was a full day for Sammi.  She had to go and get her tetanus shot.  She has been worked up about that shot for almost two years.  Afterwards she said  she couldn’t believe how silly she had been about the whole thing.  I was just grateful she was brave.  Last year we had to hold her down for her flu shot.  This year she let them give it to her no problem – yeah!  In the afternoon she went to art club where they made soap.  She gave one bar to her piano teacher the next day and the other bar to her favorite librarian.  Such a giving heart.

Friday the girls wore mums to school.  They each made a mum with Becca’s help about their favorite book.  At school they had a parade.  Meanwhile Sammi and I went to the park to search for dicot and monocots.  We loved the cooler air! Sammi and I go to the library one day a week.  The librarian gave Sam some rosemary and mint.  She is going to use it to make more soap!

This weekend is General Conference!  I love Conference weekend.  I have been praying and pondering a lot lately about our schedule.  Remember this post?  And then Elder Uchtdorf spoke directly to my concerns.  How grateful I am for modern prophets and apostles!  On Saturday the guys usually go to the General Priesthood Session of Conference together.  Well, in between sessions on Saturdays, Jason and I tried to get the lawn work done.  Unfortunately, a small winged insect got mad at him and stung him three times.  The Benadryl that he took as a result completely knocked him out.  He slept the evening away.   Meanwhile, we gathered at Marissa’s house for pizza and watched The R.M..  We had a very nice time, although I was missing my Bella girl a lot.  Thanks y’all for getting together with us!

IMG_7891This morning the weather is beautiful – high 60s – gorgeous!  The girls loved it and wanted to spend all their time outside.

Two of our traditions for GC are Candy Bingo and homemade Cinnamon Rolls!
