Grandma Turpin's Viewing

Warning! This is a post of the Viewing for Grandma Grace.

We finally got to see many of the Turpin Clan (none of them have the Turpin name as my father and I are only sons.) Many aunts and uncles, cousins and their spouses and children were there. There was a great turnout and we know that Grandma was deeply loved.

Sunday in Logan

We went to church on Sunday morning. We got to relax Sunday afternoon as Sammi played in the back yard and enjoyed picking apples.

Sammi and Alona stuffed a Halloween costume with newspaper and put a mask on it. Really fun!!

Day in SLC, and Provo

Sammi and I arrived in Salt Lake City and got to spend a couple of hours with our friend Linda.  We ate at the Lion House and got to walk around Temple Square and the Conference center.

The pine trees that Shelly and I had wedding pictures are now gone.  since the church bought the street in front and converted it to a walk way they now have new pines close to where the old ones were, although these would be in the center of the old street.

Weekend Wrap-Up

This weekend we went to see Beverly Hills Chihuahua.
http://disney.go.com/disneypictures/beverlyhillschihuahua/
If you didn't know, we have a Chihuahua. She is "royal" at least according to my 12 year old.
This is the most spoiled, pampered dog you have ever meet. If Bec had money, poor Patches would be dressed and carried around in purses just like Chloe in the movie.
We tell Becca "no mas, " but she LOVES her dog! :)

We also painted the dining room. I have wanted to do this forever! I love the color. Now I just have to figure out the furniture placement.

We also went up to the farm and celebrated Nathan’s 7th birthday!  What a big, handsome boy he is becoming!

Nathan and Mandy were here

Mama went to visit Grannie in Lampasas, so we got Mandy and Nathan!
Nathan, being wise for an almost 7 year old, decided to bring some "boy" toys.
The favorite toy was the soccer nets and ball. We played a lot of soccer!
We also enjoyed the park and the library. Lizzy says, "It was fun having Nathan and Mandy over." Love y'all!

Turkish Festival and My Birthday

One of the wonderful things about living in Houston is there is always something happening!  We are studying geography and cultures this year in our home school, so I am trying to take advantage of some of these amazing cultural opportunities.  This weekend we went to the Turkish Festival.

Here are pictures of the girls playing in the Children’s Corner:

We got each of the girls a necklace or earrings.  Very fun way to spend my birthday!

We came home and watched four hours of General Conference – absolutely wonderful, as always!

Then the eating began.  :)

Sammi made me this helping of ice cream:

Sister Brown brought over this lovely cake:  The kids had made it on Friday while I was in the temple.

Mama stopped by and brought Brownies:

The Hair family brought us this wonderful ice cream pie:
