Autism Center at U of L

Oh Brother!! How I love you!
Overall today was good. The neurologist was kind. He said that you need intensive therapy. You need additional therapists in your life that specialize in non-verbal autistic children. You need help with your sleep. He confirmed that in the near future someone will label you intellectually disabled. He expressed the need for you to learn to communicate. (Good thing Mama bought you a communication device yesterday.)  He reviewed your CT scans from when you were a baby. He agreed with other doctors that bacterial meningitis did terrible things to you.  He worries about a couple of things he saw. Am I sure that you aren't having seizures? Oh Brother! Seizures? How I pray that you and I won't have to walk that road!  He also wants you to have a sedated ABR. I'll call tomorrow. Tonight I'm going to allow myself to be a little sad. And I'm going to remember that before you were my son, you were His son. There is a plan for you Brother. And there is a Father in Heaven that loves you so much more than I can ever even imagine!
I love you Brother. We'll find our way together.
